Editorial Policy & Fact-Checking Process

Last Updated: July 2026

At Bangladesh Savings, accuracy is our highest priority. Financial calculators and savings guides directly impact the financial decisions of our users. A single incorrect interest rate or tax rule can lead to significant miscalculations. This policy outlines our rigorous editorial and fact-checking process.

1. Primary Sources

All financial data published on Bangladesh Savings is sourced exclusively from primary government sources. We do not rely on secondary reporting or third-party aggregators.

  • National Savings Directorate (NSD) — Official gazettes and circulars for Sanchayapatra interest rates, investment limits, and scheme rules.
  • Bangladesh Bank (BB) — Monetary policy statements, treasury auction results, and bank rate circulars.
  • National Board of Revenue (NBR) — Income Tax Act, SROs, and source tax notification updates.
  • Ministry of Finance (MoF) — Budget speeches, fiscal policy documents, and universal pension scheme notifications.

2. Content Creation Process

  1. Research: A financial analyst monitors official sources for new circulars, gazettes, or policy changes.
  2. Drafting: Content is written in both English and Bengali by a domain specialist (e.g., a tax specialist writes tax content).
  3. Peer Review: A second team member independently verifies all numbers, rates, and regulatory references against the original source documents.
  4. Calculator Logic Audit: For calculator updates, a data analyst cross-checks the JavaScript formulas against manual ledger calculations.
  5. Publication: Content is published only after all verification steps are complete.

3. Correction Policy

If an error is identified in any article, guide, or calculator:

  1. The error is logged and assigned to the relevant domain specialist for verification.
  2. Once confirmed, the correction is applied immediately (within 1 business day for rate errors, within 24 hours for all others).
  3. A correction notice is appended at the bottom of the affected page noting the date and nature of the change.
  4. If the error affects calculator outputs, version history is updated and a notification is placed on the calculator page.

4. Update Frequency

  • Sanchayapatra rates: Updated within 24 hours of an official NSD gazette.
  • Bank rates (FDR, DPS): Reviewed weekly from bank website disclosures.
  • Tax rules: Updated immediately upon NBR SRO or budget announcement.
  • Article content: Each article is reviewed at least once every 6 months for continued accuracy.
  • Calculator formulas: Audited quarterly by the data analytics team.

5. Independence & Conflicts of Interest

Bangladesh Savings is an independent financial information portal. We have no financial relationship with any bank, investment firm, or government agency. Our team does not accept payment or compensation for promoting specific financial products. All calculator outputs are purely mathematical and unbiased.

6. Report an Error

If you notice an error or outdated information, please contact us immediately at contact@bangladeshsavings.com. We take all accuracy reports seriously and will investigate and correct verified errors within 1 business day.
